Welcome to the web site of St. Joseph's Parish, Yorkville. Our Parish, established in 1873, was built on the courageous faith of people of humble beginnings. It was born out of a small but vibrant German community that worshipped in the Chapel of St. Joseph's Orphanage, a caring home where the Redemptorists and the School Sisters of Notre Dame served children from destitute immigrant families as loving fathers and mothers.

"From the days of the first Masses in the orphanage, through the lights of the gas lamp in the early church, through the construction of the present magnificent church, the people have built this parish: priests, sisters and lay men and women working together have made their role as Christians more meaningful for themselves and the community of Yorkville." (St. Joseph's of Yorkville Centennial 1973)

We welcome you to St. Joseph's, a parish that has grown dynamically over more than 130 years and continues to do so through the new millennium.
